Basketball: Palmer gets chance to shine on world stage

NEWCASTLE basketball player Isabel Palmer will be out to follow in the footsteps of two fellow Hunter products at the FIBA under-17 World Cup in Minski, Belarus next month.

Palmer, who is based at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra, has been named in the Australian Sapphires squad aiming to repeat the gold medal performance from 2016.

“She will play a very important role with the group and I’m excited to see how she goes at the next level. Wearing my Newcastle hat, it is great to see a Hunters junior on the world stage.”
